AttendanceIQ

We developed this app out of personal need to track attendance at softball practices, meetings and other kinds of group and social events. We use our iPhones for "everything", but couldn't find a flexible application for keeping track of attendance, so we built one ourselves and field tested it before letting it out into the wild.

We tried to keep things simple: the application works on the idea that we have events and each event has people who attend, and one or more dates. We wanted to make it easy to reuse the list of people for an event, so that tracking attendance at repeat events like soccer practices and classes would be simple.

The task of actually taking attendance had to be a completely no-hassle experience: just bring up the list of people and touch the ones who are or aren't here, then add some extra info if you need to (like 'Late', 'Sick' or a freeform note). And the collected info had to be easy to pull up, to see how many days Tommy had been absent (and why).
